the Willow Conservancy
About Us
We are a group committed to educating the public about the benefits of willow as a tool of resilience against the adverse effects of climate change. We are teaching workshops, talking to community leaders, engaging with public education, and developing local partnerships to make willow available for shade equity, resilient food security, fire breaks, and soil regeneration for schools, neighborhoods and communities. Our work is currently focused in Lane County Oregon where we are cultivating interest to reach a broad audience.

The Focus of Our Efforts
Community Outreach
the Willow Conservancy Urban Equity Project
the Willow Conservancy offers free workshops and training in willow garden structure. Our 5 part garden series is taught in the spring and features fun ways to avoid plastic, steel and planed lumber use in the garden. Willow gardens provide heat breaks of dappled shade, hormones for healthy roots and soil microbiology, and structure for happy plants. Take your food forest and turn it into a water conserving food jungle with willow.
Volunteering
We're planting willow trees for immediate use.
We plant willow trees for coppice to support our workshops. We welcome volunteers in this effort. We harvest plant starts in the fall and prepare them for planting in th spring. We invite you to join us in regenerative stewardship planting projects for watershed restoration, neighborhood shade and carbon reduction.
